A historic, three-story, wooden house is restored in one of the most exquisite neighborhoods of Beylerbeyi, Istanbul. The garden of the house is designed based on the traditional Turkish garden. A winter glass house is constructed following the proportions of pavilions in the traditional Istanbul gardens. Plant materials are selected from aromatic and medicinal herbaceous species. Seasonal change is emphasized by different colors of woody and herbaceous plants. Linden, sage, rosemary, lavender and many more plants are used to stimulate senses. A 3-meter wall of the neighboring plot is regarded as a positive entity on the site and used for the background of the glass house, and also for hanging some frames for family pictures and outdoor goods to personalize the space. The garden as a place is created for many different family activities.
